Double Your Impact for Local Young People – Every Donation Matched

A generous donor has stepped forward with an exciting opportunity for our community: every new or increased donation to SSYI will be matched pound-for-pound until 31 January 2027. At a time when demand for youth support is growing, this offer could significantly expand the reach of SSYI’s work across our villages.

The first three months of 2026 have already shown just how vital this work is. Between January and March alone, SSYI delivered 37 youth sessions, engaged 124 individual young people, and recorded 453 total attendances. Alongside this, the team provided 44 one-to-one mentoring sessions and 15 home visits, offering targeted support where it is most needed . New initiatives in local Shelford, Stapleford, Duxford and Sawston primary schools and increased activity in Sawston Village College are helping younger pupils transition confidently into secondary school life.

Sustaining this level of support is not easy. Like many charities, SSYI faces ongoing funding pressures, with rising demand and the need to balance grants, community funding and donations. Regular giving from individuals remains the most reliable and impactful way to close this funding gap and provide funding stability while ensuring that support for young people can continue week in, week out. This is why the match funding offer is so important. It effectively doubles every pound given, meaning a monthly gift of £40 could unlock £80 of youth work each month.
